Privacy Policy

This document sets out exactly how AV Access Control Ltd will use your information. If you feel that we haven't met our strict guidelines, please contact us and we will do our very best to rectify the situation.

This policy is effective from 1st July 2012. We may feel the need to change our guidelines in the future, but our basic tenets will stay the same: we will not give away your information without your permission; we will not send you spam and we will do our best to secure your private information.

What information are you collecting and why?

Upon accessing the website, our server records your IP address, your browser type and usually which operating system you're using. This will help us to develop the website with our customers' configurations in mind.

When you first visit our website, a session cookie is placed on your computer. This cookie does not provide us with any information about you or your computer; it only assigns a session number which is used by our e-commerce software (the online shop) to display your shopping cart to you and not to anybody else. Disabling cookies in your browser's settings will render the shopping cart useless; you may safely do so if you intend to place an order by telephone.

When you proceed to checkout your order, you will be presented with the option to register an account with us (via a small check-box underneath the form for your address). This is completely optional; doing so will allow us to save your details for any future orders you may make as well as provide you access to your own order history. Whether you choose to register or not, you will need to provide us with a name and an address. We use this information to post your order and never for anything else. Nothing will be sent to you which you have not explicitly requested and we will never sell your details.

Payment occurs outside of our website, on the Paypal secure payment servers. They have their own privacy policy which you may be interested in reading. Your credit card number is never revealed to us unless you place your order by telephone, when it will be manually entered into the Paypal online payment website, where it is again subject to Paypal's stringent security and privacy policy. We will never record your credit card details without seeking your permission to do so.

During the ordering process, you will be asked to provide an email address. This will be used by our courier to provide you with a tracking link for your delivery.

We reserve the right to use your email address to inform you of updates to this privacy policy. We may also send you a single invite to join our upcoming mailing list.

Who do you share information with?

We are not – and never will be – involved with any advertising groups who would use your information to send you junk mail. Aside from Paypal, who handle our payment processing, or in the case of a direct delivery from a supplier, your information will never be shared, sold or given away without your express permission.

How do you protect my information?

We have Paypal handle your payment, so your payment information is never exposed to us or our employees. All payment information processed by Paypal (name, addresses, card details) is protected by their own encryption and security protocols.

What happens if this policy changes?

If our policy ever undergoes substantial changes, all affected users will receive a one-time email outlining the updates and explaining how it will affect them.

I want to correct the information you have about me.

If you're a registered user, simply log in to your customer account and update the information inside your control panel. Alternatively, send our administrators an email at and we'll change it for you as soon as possible.

I want to remove the information you have about me.

It is currently not possible for registered users to delete their own accounts. However, we will remove your information at your request; simply contact us via the contact page and we’ll let you know as soon as we’ve completed the removal. Please note that we cannot logistically remove your email address, as we would not be able to update you on the removal if we did so; and we cannot remove order history from our paper records for accounting reasons.

I want to see the information you have collected from me.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. Most companies require a small fee for this service, but we'd prefer you to make a small donation to a registered charity of your choice. If you would like a copy of the information we hold on you, please write to us at the address provided below.
